The poor state of women's security in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh has come to light again. The brutal torture of a tribal woman went viral on social media and many people in the state came to condemn it. No one was seen by the side of the helpless woman.
After several hours, the police intervened. The leaders of the ruling party joined. Although there are reports of arrests due to media pressure. A shameful picture came to the fore in village Ruparel under Raipuria police station area of Jhabua district of West Madhya Pradesh.
The Jhabua police swung into action when the video of a tribal woman being beaten up half-naked became increasingly viral on social media.Only two hours after the incident, Jhabua police registered an FIR and started arresting the accused. The police have put four accused behind the bars।
Jhabua Superintendent of Police Arvind Tiwari said that the woman was beaten up until she fainted. A case was registered against the accused Mukesh Katara, father Raichand Katara and five other people.
He told that the victim woman is the second wife of Majrooh Meherban who had gone to live with Mukesh about eight months ago. She came back to Mehraban village Ruparel last evening. Angered by this, Mukesh along with his other companions reached Ruparel and assaulted the woman. He kidnapped her and took her away.
The police have arrested the accused. A case has been registered against him under sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 294, 506, 364, 354 of the IPC. Majrooh and his wife are labourers. The accused Mukesh also belongs to the tribal society.
