The Israeli government has declared that it will authorize the passage of aid shipments to Gaza through Egypt, provided that the aid is exclusively for the civilian population in the southern Gaza Strip and does not reach Hamas. This decision was made following a visit by US President Joe Biden, who played a role in coordinating this humanitarian assistance.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office affirmed that while Israel won't allow aid to enter Gaza from its own territory, it will permit the transfer of food, water, and medicine from Egypt, complying with the condition that it is solely for the benefit of civilians and not destined for Hamas. The decision was made in response to a request from the US president.
