Stay tuned with us for the whole news.
Established under the dynamic leadership of Mr. R.K. Arora, Supertech has led to creation of various landmark projects and have worked hard towards launching and escalate the real estate sector to the next level. Supertech's ambitious project, Noida Twin Towers rose during 2004.
The SuperTech twin tower is a 40 storey twin towers ( Apex[32] and Ceyane[29] )with 915 flats in the Sector 93A of Greater Noida near the Noida Expressway. Projecting under Superterch’s Emerald Court, covers an area of 7.5 lakh sq. feet. A collaboration project is made with the Noida authority.
Taller than the Qutub Minar of Delhi, these towers are the India’s highest structures of 100 metre tall ever to be demolished on August 28 using the process of implosion.
Over after much controversy, a petition was filed by the residents of Welfare Association of Emerald Court Group Housing Society, claiming that the construction of these towers have violated over the Apartment Act of 2010.
As per the report, the towers have been built illegally without the consent of the flat owners.
In 2014, the Allahabad Court adjucated that the construction of the twin towers are illegal and asked the flay buyers to return the estimated amount with 14% interest. The collaborated towers to be demolished as such was ordered by the court in turn. Another in August 2021, the Supreme Court of India mandated the same as the structures violated the minimum distance requirement and were built illegally without taking the consent of the individual flat owners as required under the UP Apartment Act. The builders will be demolishing the twin towers on their own expanse.
The reason for this was of serious violation of building codes and both the authority has engaged in the nefarious activity. After much back and forth on both ends, nothing could be achieved. Following this, the Supertech has appealed to the supreme court to review its order.
The saga is set to come to an end with the demolition. According to the reports, explosives have been reportedly fixed in the 11 primary blast floors and seven secondary floors both in Apex and Ceyane, under the charge of Mumbai Based edifice Engineering and South African partner firm Jet Demolitions.
The demolition will take place under the Implosion technique with around 3700 kgs of explosives mix of dynamites, emulsions and plastics explosives with 9000 holes drilled into the towers concrete. The waterfall implosion method will be used to bring down the towers and the buildings will collapse inward within a few minutes.
The charging process will be completed by August 26, says the Mumbai-based company carrying out the demolition, in order to make sure that the work gets completed in any case well before the scheduled demolition at 2:30 pm on August 28. At least 100 workers are a part of the demolition team, Of the 40 workers present at site for charging, only 10 would remain on August 28, which include the two Indian blasters and edifice project manger Mayur Mehta and seven members of the South African expert partner Jet Demolition.
The rigging event will last for just 15 seconds as it will take 9-10 sec to blast in a series with loud noise and 4-5 sec to come down for dust dissipation for a total of 10 mins. The total cost estimated will be around 20 crore with plenty of explosives, manpower and equipment. It is estimated to release 35000 cubic metres of debris and the impact will be maximum on the two adjoining societies – Emerald Court and ATS Village.
Various arrangements were made for witnessing these biggest demolition of nation ever. Over 5000 residents were vacated from the nearby housing complex by 7:30 am and will be back by after 4pm safely. More than 2500 vehicles were made standstill and made to park at the Botanical Garden metro station. Movement of people, vehicles and animals were restricted from 2:15pm to 2:45 pm today. Traffic in the area will be diverted for an hour and a half on the day of the blast.
Various hospitals have been informed regarding the clearance of beds in case of any casualties at Felix Hospital, reported. All forms of services like fire tenders, ambulance shall be parked on the road behind the park Infront of the twin towers. Usage of drones in city skies have been banned from August 26 till August 31 by the Noida Police for the security reasons and will be seen as an punishable offence under the IPC Section 188 by law.
Proper management and disposition of debris need to be done under the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016, otherwise there will be an ever lasting impact upon the environment with the formation of dust clouds posing serious health issues like eye, nose, skin, mouth and respiratory problems.
The authority officials will take care about the disposal out from the city in management plant in Sector 80 with a capacity of 300 tonnes per day. About 4000 tonnes of iron and steel is likely to be yielded out of demolition. 225 tonnes of wired mesh of galvanised iron and geo textile in 110km length would be used in the entire process.
A post demolition debris would be manged scientifically as per the rules and regulations. The supreme court has already Declared that the authorities need to refund the entire amount to the flat buyers with 12% from the beginning. Added to that, the RWA of Emarald Court Project must pay 2crore owing to harassment for the construction of the twin towers. Even the investors and the home buyers who have paid money into the project are eligible to get their money back by January 17, 2022.
We, the nation’s citizens should take a lesson from this biggest demolition. The homebuyers apex body, FPCE claimed that it should act as a weapon to curb the builders resorting to illegal construction and there should be a mechanism lo know the buyers about the truth behind it, whether legal or illegal and that by official notice.
