The SFI notes that 75 years have passed since independence but, despite so many years of independence, some fundamental problems have not been resolved.  Especially in terms of education, millions of children in India are still deprived of education.  Many children in this country have not received the light of education due to economic hardship, social barriers brought about by caste and religion.  The problem is not limited to this.  After enrolling in schools and colleges, many people have to complete their education halfway due to lack of infrastructure, teachers, fee increases, poverty etc.  According to a recent survey conducted by the Government of India, 12.6 per cent of students have to complete their schooling halfway.  Assam has the highest drop out rate.

In Assam, 31 per cent of students drop out of school at the secondary level.  In addition, many people are deprived of higher education due to lack of adequate college seats and rising fees.  The imposition of a grading system without adequate teachers and infrastructure in higher education has led to anarchy.  There are many reasons why students in Guwahati University have been protesting against the results.  In addition, the education system in the state has taken a complex form.  There are 28,910 vacancies for teachers from university to primary level in the state.  On the other hand, many educational institutions still lack libraries, clean drinking water, electricity, computers and internet services.  Instead of solving these problems, the government is busy with a strange mixture of English mother tongue medium.

They also said that the Supreme Court's recommendation to set up 'Anti-Sexual Harassment and Gender Awareness Committee' (GSCASH) in educational institutions has not been implemented in most of the institutions.  Other cities in the country offer concessionary bus fares and 'bus passes' for students but students in various cities of Assam including Guwahati are deprived of this facility.  Along with these educational problems, in independent India, which has crossed 75 years of independence, we are witnessing the rise of communal violence and discriminatory forces in the country which is very dangerous for the seven-generation harmony and brotherhood of India and especially Assam.

Secularism is one of the foundations of the Constitution of the country.  This foundation needs to be strengthened.  However, the government is trying to write a new history by offering unscientific interpretations of various aspects of history.  Recently, it has been seen how the government wants to remove the concept of the Constitution and democratic rights from the curriculum.  The Hindutva forces are doing their utmost to make new history by making Gandhi's assassin Godse a hero.

Police brutality on sfi

At the end of the meeting, a procession of more than 500 students was attempted but was blocked by the police and administration.  The protesters were pushed by the police and administration.  They were arrested and taken to Chachal.  The SFI state committee said the government's decision to block the democratic, peaceful and 'education, constitution and defense of the country' procession is an indication of the dictatorial mentality of the Assam government.
