Blood donation for humanity....
Dreaming of building a happy prosperous humane society, a group of vibrant Left students - youth donated blood at the 17th annual Late Somnath Sarkar Memorial Blood Donation Camp organized at Khandara Handicapped Center in Andal Block.
Somnath is the son of eminent philanthropist Prakash Sarkar, leader of Khandara Bidhanchadra Handicapped Center. On this day in 2005 in a tragic road accident, this popular and philanthropic Somnath Sarkar lost his life prematurely. This blood donation camp is being held in his memory.
DYFI - SFI Khandara Unit Committee organized blood donation camp in total 37 youth including 4 young women donated blood.
Shatarup Ghosh, a prominent leader of the student youth movement of the state, inaugurated the camp. Deputy General Secretary of West Bengal Voluntary Blood Donors Forum Kabi Ghosh, labor leader Prabir Mandal, Dr. Soma Roy, doctor of Durgapur Divisional Hospital, West Burdwan District Voluntary Blood Donors Forum Secretary Sujan Chakraborty, Durgapur Divisional Voluntary Blood Donors Forum along with general editor Sulta were present. Das, Mrityunjay Samant and Sharmila Ghosh on behalf of Paschim Burdwan Social Service & Welfare Society Along with many other dignitaries.
Durgapur sub division Voluntary Blood Donors Forum supported the camp. Durgapur Divisional Hospital Blood Center collected the blood.At the end of the camp, Dr. Soma Roy and Kabi Ghosh handed over certificates and greetings to the organizing organization respectively.
DYFI West Bengal State Committee Secretary Meenakshi Mukherjee in a message congratulated and congratulated all blood donors, volunteers, organizing organizations and medical teams.organisers gave a fruit tree to each blood donor.
