CPIM Demands Immediate Action for Medicine Shortages at Ayush Hospital in Port Blair

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) Andaman & Nicobar State Organizing Committee has raised serious concerns over the dire shortage of medicines at the Ayush Hospital in Port Blair. In a formal letter addressed to the Director of Health Services, A & N Islands, Secretary Comrade D Ayyappan highlighted the critical situation where patients are left with no choice but to purchase essential medicines from private medical stores due to their unavailability at the hospital.

Comrade D Ayyappan emphasized that the shortage of prescribed medications has put patients, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, in a precarious position. The inability to access necessary drugs within the hospital premises has resulted in additional financial burdens on already struggling individuals.

The CPIM has called upon the Director of Health Services to take immediate and effective measures to rectify the situation. They urge for swift action to ensure that all prescribed medicines are adequately stocked at the Ayush Hospital, eliminating the need for patients to seek alternative sources for their healthcare needs.

Furthermore, Comrade Ayyappan has demanded a thorough investigation into the root cause of the medicine shortages at the Ayush Hospital. The CPIM aims to identify systemic issues and implement long-term solutions to prevent such crises from recurring in the future.

The CPIM's proactive stance highlights their commitment to addressing the healthcare challenges faced by the community. Their demand for immediate action underscores the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the importance of accessible and equitable healthcare for all residents of Andaman & Nicobar.
