Beijing – In a sharp escalation of rhetoric, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense has issued a scathing critique of United States foreign policy, characterizing the nation as a "war machine" and the primary driver of international instability.
Claims of Perpetual Warfare
During a press briefing, Senior Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, pointed to the United States' historical record, claiming that in its over 240 years of existence, it has only seen 16 years without active conflict.
He further noted the extensive global reach of the American military, citing the presence of more than 800 overseas bases spread across approximately 80 countries and regions.
Allegations of Regional Destabilization
The spokesperson specifically highlighted several regions where he claims U.S. intervention has led to humanitarian crises:
Afghanistan and Iraq: Wu referenced these long-standing conflicts as examples of where the "war machine" has left local populations in misery.
Ukraine: The Ministry criticized the U.S. for sending depleted uranium rounds and cluster munitions to the region.
Middle East: The deployment of carrier strike groups to the Mediterranean and the provision of weapons to Israel were cited as actions that further destabilize the area.
"The Great Destroyer"
The briefing concluded with a series of heavy labels for the United States, with Wu Qian calling the country:
The "fundamental source of chaos" in the international order.
The "behind-the-scenes manipulator" of global turmoil.
The "greatest destroyer" of regional peace and stability.
"Facts prove that wherever America's war machine rolls through, the people there are plunged into misery," Wu stated during the address.
These comments reflect the ongoing and deepening geopolitical tensions between Beijing and Washington, particularly regarding military presence and regional influence.
