The march started from Asansol station and ended at the university premises. The size of the march was so long that the protest stand was at the last stage when the last part of the march was entering. The spontaneity in today's protest march was palpable.
CPIM West Burdwan District Secretary gouranga Chatterjee, District secretariate member Pankaj Roy Sarkar and Left Youth Leader Minakshi Mukherjee spoke at the protest site and demanded that the job seekers should be given jobs immediately and the culprits of the recruitment corruption should be punished.
They expressed their anger against the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The speakers demanded the immediate resignation of the Vice-Chancellor close to Partha Chattopadhyay.
They also demanded an investigation into the corruption of many Trinamool leaders in the district, the speakers demanded a proper investigation into the coal smuggling case.
