A con artist who pretended to be a bank executive stole Rs 9.53 lakh from the bank account of a 75-year-old widow who lived in the Parel neighbourhood of Mumbai. The con artist stole the money by impersonating a bank official. The con artist tricked her into downloading a remote access programme, and then took money from her bank account under the pretence that he would help her collect the insurance money that belonged to her late husband.

After that, he requested that she download a remote access app onto her mobile device so that he could provide assistance to her in acquiring the monies.
