An earthquake has caused severe jolts to be felt throughout the Delhi-National Capital Region region. At least two jolts were experienced, and the earth was trembling for around ten seconds total. They became terrified and dashed out of their homes in a panic. The jolts were felt not just in the areas surrounding Delhi, but also in Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Rajasthan as well. According to reports, the region of Afghanistan known as the Hindu Kush served as the epicentre of the earthquake. On the Richter scale, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 6.6.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., when most people were getting ready to turn in for the night, the earthquake struck. There is currently no information on any damage that may have occurred. Individuals living in Delhi-National Capital Region tall buildings reported feeling acute fear. People are using various forms of social media to discuss their experiences. Residents in the cities of Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad hastily evacuated their homes and did not have the guts to return for quite some time afterward.
The region of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) has been shaken by earthquakes three times already in 2018. Prem, who resides in Sector 49 in Noida, shared that he had just finished dinner and was relaxing on his bed when all of a sudden, everything began to shake. Almost immediately, he left the house to go out with his family. Likewise, Pankaj, a resident of Uttam Nagar in Delhi, reported that he felt the jolts for longer than a minute during the earthquake. Those living in Greater Noida's Sector Ek also reported feeling the earthquakes.
