Akhilesh Yadav Slams Yogi Adityanath Over Asad Ahmed Encounter, Alleges Fake Encounters Ahead of Elections
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of orchestrating encounters with an eye on the upcoming elections. In a recent statement, Yadav questioned why the UP Police have received the maximum number of notices regarding fake encounters .
This remark from the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister comes in the wake of the Asad Ahmed Encounter, where Asad, the son of main suspect Atiq Ahmad in the Umesh Pal murder case, was killed by UP police during a violent clash . A UP STF member and Asad's friend Gulam were also killed in the incident .
Yadav highlighted the high number of encounters and questioned the intentions behind them, saying, "#BJP is doing encounters keeping elections in mind; Why does #UPPolice have the maximum number of notices regarding fake encounters?" . He further criticized the Yogi Adityanath-led government for using such tactics to garner votes, implying that the encounters were politically motivated.
The Asad Ahmed Encounter has gained widespread attention, with news channels like Himachal Abhi Abhi, Khabar Fast, and INH 24x7 covering the story [1]. The incident has sparked a heated debate on the issue of encounters and their legitimacy.
The opposition parties have used this opportunity to target the ruling BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, accusing them of resorting to fake encounters as a means to maintain law and order in the state.
