Former J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik has made shocking revelations in an interview with The Wire, just one day before, regarding the Pulwama attack. Malik alleges that the Prime Minister and the National Security Advisor of India asked him to remain silent about his concerns regarding the mishandling of the situation during the Pulwama attack in February 2019, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans.
Malik claims that he had shared his concerns with the Prime Minister on the day of the attack itself, to which he was told to "keep your silence now." He also blamed the Union home ministry and the CRPF for the failure of intelligence and mismanagement, stating that none of the link roads to the highway on which the convoy was traveling were blocked.
These allegations are grave and demand immediate and unbiased investigation to reveal the truth on behalf of the public. It is appalling that national security was compromised for political gains during the Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP using the Pulwama attack and the death of jawans as part of their election strategy. The real face of Sanghaparivar, who often use nationalism as a shield and strategy, is being exposed once again through this interview.
National security is a matter of utmost importance, involving the lives of jawans and the people. Playing cheap political games with national security is a crime that should not be tolerated at any level. The DYFI Central Executive Committee strongly demands a thorough investigation into the hidden truths regarding the Pulwama attack and the security lapses that may have led to the loss of soldiers' lives. The DYFI will protest and raise this demand in the strongest possible manner across the country.
