Sunny Deol: There's Love on Both Sides, Political Game Creates Hatred Between India and Pakistan
Mumbai, July 28 : Actor Sunny Deol, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Gadar 2', has said that people in both India and Pakistan have love for each other and they want peace.
"There is equal love on both sides. It is the political game that gives birth to hatred," Deol, a BJP MP from Gurdaspur in Punjab, said on Wednesday.
He was speaking at the trailer launch of 'Gadar 2', which is a sequel to the 2001 film 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'. The film is set to release on August 11.
Deol said that the film is a "love story" and it shows how people from both India and Pakistan can come together despite the political differences between the two countries.
"The film shows that there is no difference between the people of India and Pakistan. We are all human beings and we all want peace," he said.
Deol's comments come at a time when relations between India and Pakistan are at a low ebb. The two countries have been engaged in a military standoff along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir for over a year.
However, Deol said that he believes that there is still hope for peace between India and Pakistan.
"I believe that there will be peace between India and Pakistan someday. We are all neighbors and we have to live together," he said.
'Gadar 2' is directed by Anil Sharma and it also stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and Sonakshi Sinha.
