Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh (July 30, 2023) – CPI(M) PB Member and former Member of Parliament, Subhashini Ali, has lambasted the Modi government for its anti-student education policy. She was addressing a conference against the National Education Policy (NEP) in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
Ali said that the NEP is an attack on science, mathematics, and social justice. She pointed out that the NEP has diluted the importance of science and mathematics in the curriculum. She also said that the NEP has made it easier for private schools to profit at the expense of public education.
Ali also criticized the NEP for its lack of focus on social justice. She said that the NEP does not address the issue of caste discrimination in education. She also said that the NEP does not do enough to promote education for the poor and marginalized.
Ali called on the people to oppose the NEP and to demand a better education policy for the students of India.
In her speech, Ali also highlighted the following points:
- The NEP is a neoliberal education policy that will benefit the rich and powerful at the expense of the poor and marginalized.
- The NEP will lead to the privatization of education and the decline of public education.
- The NEP will make it more difficult for students from poor and marginalized backgrounds to get a good education.
Ali called on the people to oppose the NEP and to demand a better education policy for the students of India. She said that the people must fight for an education policy that is based on the principles of social justice, equality, and secularism.
The conference was attended by a large number of people from Bulandshahr and the surrounding areas. The participants expressed their strong opposition to the NEP and demanded a better education policy for the students of India.
