NCB Busts International Drug Trafficking Syndicate in Mumbai

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted an international drug trafficking syndicate in Mumbai, India. Two people have been arrested while the role of another person is being investigated. The agency seized a large quantity of contrabands including MDMA, Hydroponic Weed, and LSD, which were smuggled into Mumbai from the US, UK, and the Netherlands.

The NCB received a tip-off about the syndicate in June 2023. The agency conducted a series of raids and arrested two people, identified as S Kashyap and Arjun G. The two men were found to be in possession of a large quantity of drugs, including MDMA tablets, Hydroponic Weed, and LSD blotters.

The NCB investigation revealed that the syndicate was smuggling drugs into India from the US, UK, and the Netherlands. The drugs were concealed in various ways, including inside portable audio systems and parcels. The syndicate had been operating for several years and had a large network of suppliers and distributors.

The NCB has seized a total of 1.403 kgs of MDMA (2917 tablets), 1.840 kgs of Hydroponic Weed and 0.26 gms of LSD (24 blots) in three operations. The two arrested men have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). The NCB is investigating the role of other people involved in the syndicate.

The NCB's bust of the international drug trafficking syndicate is a major success. It has disrupted a major drug supply chain and sent a strong message to criminals that they will be brought to justice. The NCB's efforts are helping to make India a safer place for its citizens.
