A group of people gathered outside Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence Mannat on Saturday afternoon to protest against the actor's endorsement of online gaming applications. The protesters held placards and shouted slogans demanding that Khan withdraw his endorsement of such apps, which they believe are addictive and can lead to financial ruin for young people.
Police were deployed in large numbers outside Mannat to prevent any clashes between the protesters and Khan's security personnel. The protest lasted for about an hour, after which the protesters dispersed peacefully.
Khan has not yet commented on the protest. However, his production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has issued a statement saying that it "does not endorse any form of gambling or addiction."
