Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the cancer specialty block built by Cochin Smart Mission Limited at Ernakulam General Hospital on October 2. The six-storey cancer block cost Rs 25 crore to build and can accommodate 100 patients.
The cancer block has facilities such as a cancer ICU, chemotherapy unit, separate wards for men and women, a dormitory for attendants, a neutropenia ICU, a nursing station, separate rooms for doctors, and the most convenient sanitary facilities for patients.
The construction of the cancer block was carried out jointly by Cochin Smart Mission Limited and Inkel. The necessary equipment for treatment has also been provided in collaboration with Kerala Medical Services Corporation Limited.
The cancer specialty block is expected to give a new impetus to the health development of Kochi.
