CPI(M) Polit Bureau members comrades Brinda Karat and Subhashini Ali met Danish Ali (MP, BSP) on September 24, 2023 to extend solidarity. They called Bidhuri's comments a case of verbal lynching and demanded his arrest. Danish Ali stated that he was confident of support of the CPI(M) and extended greetings to the party.
The meeting took place in the wake of a recent incident in which Delhi BJP leader Vijay Bidhuri made derogatory remarks against Danish Ali. Bidhuri had said that Ali was a "traitor" and a "jihadi".
Karat and Ali condemned Bidhuri's remarks and called them a case of verbal lynching. They said that Bidhuri's comments were an attempt to incite communal violence. They demanded that Bidhuri be arrested for his remarks.
Danish Ali thanked the CPI(M) for its support and said that he was confident that the party would stand up for the rights of all minorities in India. He also extended his greetings to the CPI(M).
