Durgapur, October 17, 2023: Employees of the DSP ( in Durgapur, West Bengal, held a massive united demonstration in front of the ED) Works on Tuesday, demanding bonus, withdrawal of vindictive suspension orders and settlement of all pending issues of the (NJCS).
The demonstration was organized by the several unions . The union said that the employees had been delayed their bonus , and that several of their colleagues had been suspended vindictively. The union also said that the management had failed to settle several pending issues of the NJCS, such as the implementation of the Wage Agreement Including of 39 month arrears.
The workers who participated in the demonstration said that they would continue to protest until their demands were met. They also said that they would not hesitate to go on strike if the management failed to address their grievances.
The SAIL major public sector enterprise engaged in the construction and maintenance of railways, bridges, roads, and other infrastructure projects.
The demonstration by the DSP workers is the latest in a series of protests by public sector employees in recent months. The employees are demanding better wages, working conditions, and social security benefits.
