The International Football Association Board (IFAB) is set to trial blue cards in football as part of sin-bin trials. This would be one of the biggest refereeing changes in years.
The new rule would see players sent to a sin-bin for 10 minutes for committing cynical fouls or showing dissent towards match officials. Players who receive two blue cards in a game or a combination of a blue and a yellow card would be sent off.
The trials are expected to begin in the FA Cup and Women's FA Cup next season.
