Senior BJP Leader B.S. Yediyurappa Booked for Alleged Sexual Assault

 

Late on Thursday night, the Sadashivanagar police took action against senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, 81, booking him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO). This decision followed a complaint filed by the mother of a 17-year-old, alleging sexual assault. The police confirmed registering the case under section 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code.

According to police sources, the incident in question occurred on February 2, 2024, when the mother and daughter visited Yediyurappa seeking assistance with a cheating case. The mother, accompanied by her daughter, lodged the complaint with the police on Thursday evening, leading to the official registration of the case past midnight.

This development has sparked widespread attention and raised significant concerns, given Yediyurappa's prominent political stature. Authorities assure a thorough investigation into the matter as they strive to uphold justice and ensure the safety of all citizens.
