At least 29 people have been killed and one person injured in a fire that broke out at a nightclub in central Istanbul, Turkey. The fire occurred on Tuesday during daytime renovation work at the venue, according to the city's governor's office.
The blaze erupted in the Besiktas district, located on the European side of Istanbul. Initial reports indicated a lower death toll, but the number tragically rose as some of the injured succumbed to their injuries at hospitals.
