In an unprecedented show of global solidarity, Amazon workers from 30 countries have gone on strike today, demanding dignified wages, improved working conditions, and the right to unionize. The coordinated action aims to disrupt Amazon’s "Black Friday" profits, a critical revenue day for the e-commerce giant.
Labor unions and worker advocacy groups have united under the campaign banner “Make Amazon Pay,” highlighting grievances over low wages, workplace safety concerns, and the company’s alleged anti-union practices.
“We’re standing together to show Amazon that workers are not disposable,” said one protester.
The strike includes warehouse workers, delivery drivers, and office staff from countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Demonstrations are taking place outside Amazon facilities, with rallies also targeting corporate offices in major cities.
Amazon has not yet released a formal response, though the company has historically defended its labor policies, citing competitive wages and benefits.
The workers hope this united front will force the corporation to address their demands and set a precedent for better treatment across the industry.
