The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has announced that a high-profile delegation of its senior leaders will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir on June 10 and 11, 2025. The visit underscores the party's commitment to understanding and addressing the concerns of the people in the region.
The delegation will be led by the party's General Secretary, M.A. Baby, and comprises an array of distinguished leaders:
- Amra Ram, Polit Bureau Member and Lok Sabha MP
- K. Radhakrishnan, Central Committee Member and Lok Sabha MP
- John Brittas, Invitee to the Central Committee and Rajya Sabha MP
- Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Rajya Sabha MP
- Su Venkatesan, Lok Sabha MP
- A.A. Rahim, Rajya Sabha MP
Additionally, Mohd. Yusuf Tarigami, CPI(M) MLA and Central Committee Member from the region, will accompany the delegation.
The visit has dual objectives: first, to engage directly with families affected by the recent cross-border shelling in Uri, offering solidarity while assessing the devastating impact of such hostilities on civilian lives. Second, the delegation will address a day-long convention of party workers at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, aiming to bolster organizational strength and dialogue within the party's cadre.
This initiative reflects CPI(M)'s enduring dedication to standing by the marginalized and amplifying their voices in the corridors of power.
