Left parties are leading the movement across the country, with the Left Women's Organization, the All India Democratic Women's Association, joining the protest in the town of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, yesterday.
Activists of the Left Women's Organization joined the dharna at the foot of the Gandhi statue. There was a scuffle with the police.Speaking on the occasion, the speakers alleged that the country has taken the process of suppressing anti-government voices and protests would be organized in the streets to protect democracy immediately.
