June 18 marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Georgy Dimitrov. Representatives of the leadership of the KKKR and the Moscow City Party Committee paid tribute to the memory of an outstanding figure in the Bulgarian and international communist movement.

On behalf of the Russian Communists, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia sent a congratulatory telegram to the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party on the occasion of the Anniversary of the first leader of socialist Bulgaria.
The congratulation notes, “... the whole life and fiery activity of the faithful son of the Bulgarian people, Georgy Dimitrov, for half a century was connected with the struggle of the Bulgarian working people for the liberation and establishment of people's democracy in Bulgaria. Comrade Dimitrov's contribution to the defeat of the Nazis in the country and throughout Europe is enormous. For Russians, friendly relations and joint work of Georgy Mikhailovich with I.V. Stalin, leadership of the Dimitrov Comintern at critical moments in history. In Russia, Georgy Dimitrov is well known and revered, they study the experience of his revolutionary and anti-fascist activities, which is especially relevant to time. Cities, streets and squares are named after Dimitrov. The highest award of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, the Order of Georgy Dimitrov, was awarded to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Leonid Brezhnev. The memory of the great Bulgarian communist Georgy Mikhailovich Dimitrov will forever remain in the hearts of all honest people, supporters of a just and multipolar world!”
