*23rd Party Congress Reporting and State Committee Meeting in Bihar*
On July 23, 2022, a statewide Bihar CPI(M) general body meeting comprising state and district committee members and leading mass front functionaries was held in Patna for the reporting of the 23rd Party Congress. Over 400 leading comrades from 32 out of 37 districts in the state attended.
The meeting was presided over by state secretariat member Sarvodaya Sharma. State secretary Lalan Choudhary reported the state committee decisions about the campaign and movement centering around the Party, mass fronts, SKM and Mahagatbandhan calls from July 31 to August 15. The largest actions of thousands of people each will take place at every district centre on August 7, at the joint call given by the Mahagatbandhan.
PBM A Vijayaraghavan briefly dwelt with some important organisational issues, since he had to catch an early flight. PBM Dr Ashok Dhawale reported about the 23rd Party Congress. A press conference was held at the end.
Earlier, on July 22-23, the Party Bihar state committee was held and it was attended by both the PBMs in charge. It almost unanimously elected a 13 member new state secretatiat. Two more seats will be filled later. The state committee also unanimously decided on the distribution of responsibilities.
The state political and work report was placed by Lalan Choudhary. A Vijayaraghavan reported on the decisions of the last PB meeting. Dr Ashok Dhawale reported about the Party and mass fronts decisions as regards campaign and movement in connection with the 75th year of Indian Independence and also the SKM decisions.
