Ward number 23 and 24 of Burdwan city is one of the areas where democracy is being killed by the criminals of the ruling party. After the assembly elections in 2021, opposition party workers were brutally tortured led by the MLA from Burdwan city. Martyr Nitya Pal's house is in this area. Martyr's Day is celebrated every year by the three branches of the party adjacent to this area. Party supporter of this area vacated the occupied Kanchananagar party office some time ago.
The Martyr's Day of Nitya Pal was memorised with dignity in the presence of hundreds of left supporters despite the heavy rain at the call of the CPI(M), Burdwan City-2 Area Committee. Nitya Pal's cousin Draupadi Pal, Party Area Committee Secretary Tarun Roy and all the party member present paid tribute to Nitya Pal's portrait. Tarun Roy spoke.
