Rahul Gandhi is in Bangalore to celebrate veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah's 75th birthday.The process of uniting the Congress party within the Congress has begun with Rahul Gandhi himself spearheading the process ahead of this birthday.
The Congress is practically divided into two camps. On one side is Siddaramaiah and on the other is DK Shivakumar. The conflict between these two camps has left the entire Congress party in crisis.

According to the political circles, the chances of the Congress to emerge are strong as the Janata Dal secular, one of the allies of the anti-BJP coalition in Karnataka, has gradually lost its support base.
The top leadership of the Congress is active in eliminating factionalism immediately to build an alternative force to the BJP in Karnataka politics. Therefore, they have taken the process of building a united form of Congress keeping in front of the 75th birthday of the veteran leader.
