*1000-strong CPI(M) Thane-Palghar District GBM in Talasari to Prepare for Gram Panchayat Elections*
Gram Panchayat elections in Thane-Palghar and other districts in the state have been declared, with the voting on October 13 and counting on October 14. To prepare for these, a CPI(M) district wide general body meeting was held on September 9, 2022, at the Comrade Godavari Shamrao Parulekar Bhawan in Talasari. Over 1,000 main activists of the Party and mass fronts from 9 tehsils were present. It was heartening that 85 year-old veteran Party leader, ex-MP and ex-MLA Lahanu Kom was present.
The meeting was presided over by state secretariat member Vinod Nikole, MLA, and it was addressed by PBM Dr Ashok Dhawale, CCM Mariam Dhawale, state secretariat members Kisan Gujar and Kiran Gahala, district secretary. In the light of the current political challenges, they called upon comrades to work with full strength to win the maximum Gram Panchayats.
Party tehsil secretaries Laxman Dombre, Radka Kalangda, Chandu Dhangda, Bharat Walamba, Yashwant Ghatal and Sunil Surve placed the election preparations in their tehsils.AIKS state council member Chandrakant Ghorkhana, AIDWA state secretary Prachi Hatiwlekar, DYFI state president Nandkumar Hadal, and SFI state joint secretary Bhaskar Mhase placed the coming programmes of their mass fronts. The GBM decided to make them a success.
In this enthusiastic GBM, more than Rs 5,000 worth of the issues of the Party state weekly 'Jeewan Marg' and the AIKS state booklet of revolutionary songs, 'Woh Subah Kabhi To Aayegi', was sold.
