Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, will remain in office for another four years because no one else stepped forward to take his place. FIFA announced on Thursday that the 52-year-old Swiss lawyer was the only candidate who had submitted an entry by the deadline that passed overnight—four months prior to election day in Kigali, Rwanda, on March 16.
