Brill Empolo scored the only goal as Switzerland beat Cameroon in their World Cup Group G opener on Thursday.
Cameroon's miserable run at the world's top tournament continued after losing their 10th consecutive World Cup match. The Indomitable Lions, who stunned Diego Maradona's Argentina at the 1990 World Cup, have not only recorded one win in their last 15 World Cup matches.
They are confident on the south court and are likely to win from the start thanks to some excellent early moves. 10 minutes, Brian Mbeumu made a wonderful pass down the left wing. The Brentford striker fell inside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Swiss goalkeeper Jan Sommer. Then Karl Toko Ekambi hit the crossbar from 10 yards out.
Martin Hongla landed a pulldown on the right, but Sommer once again made a great jab.
