Construction work banned due to low air quality in delhi

Sunday was a particularly bad day for air quality in the nation's capital, and as a result, the air quality panel at the Centre issued an order to the authorities in the Delhi-National Capital Region to prohibit non-essential construction work in the region as part of stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

At four o'clock on Sunday afternoon, the 24-hour moving average of the air quality index in Delhi was 407.

"poor" refers to an AQI between 201 and 300, "extremely poor" refers to an AQI between 301 and 400, and "severe" refers to an AQI between 401 and 500.

After the 4th of November, when the AQI reached 447, the level of pollution in Delhi was officially classified as "severe."

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) issued a directive to the authorities on November 14 to revoke the restrictions that were enforced in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) under stage III of GRAP. These restrictions included a ban on construction activities that were deemed to be non-essential.
