December 10 is International Human Rights Day, commemorating the adoption and promulgation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948.

Human rights are a set of internationally recognized human rights that form the basis of international law. These include civil and political rights, such as the right to life and freedom from slavery or torture; social rights, including education and health care; and economic rights, such as the right to work, decent working conditions, fair pay, equal pay, fair pensions and old age conditions.
The Constitution of India was adopted by the elected Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949.

The Constitution entered into force on January 26, 1950. The Constitution of India is one of the most important documents in India today as it provides the system of governance of India. It determined the basic principles of democracy, secularism, socialism, etc. All other Indian laws today follow these principles.
