Plasma and magnetic fields can interact with the magnetic field of the Earth and the magnetic fields of other planets, which can result in stunning auroras and other events.
The CME does not pose any danger to Earth; however, if it were to hit with another planet or an asteroid, it may result in catastrophic damage on both bodies.
The force of the CME is so enormous that it has the potential to eject neighbouring objects and make those things to deviate from their intended path.
NASA is keeping a close eye on the situation and will give updates as soon as new information is gathered and processed. In the days ahead, specialists in Space Weather and astronomers will devote additional research time to the investigation of the CME's occurrence.
