According to recent reports, 59 cases of H3N2 influenza were detected by the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in Bhubaneswar. These cases were identified from a total of 225 samples collected during January and February in the state of Odisha. The symptoms of H3N2 influenza are similar to those of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, cold, throat pain, and headache.
Following the detection of two fatalities in Haryana and Karnataka, the Odisha government issued an advisory to raise awareness about the potential threat of H3N2 influenza.
