The city of Delhi has experienced a rise in the number of new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, as 72 new cases were reported with a positivity rate of 3.95%. This has led to an increase in the total number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital, which now stands at 2,007,970. Along with the rise in COVID-19 cases, the city has also reported 26,523 deaths due to the virus.
This surge in COVID-19 cases comes at a time when India is also seeing an increase in H3N2 influenza cases. H3N2 is a type of flu that can cause severe illness, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions. This surge in H3N2 cases has added to the concerns of the health authorities who are already grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.In response to the spike in cases, authorities have been ramping up efforts to increase awareness about the importance of following COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and washing hands frequently. The Delhi government has also been increasing the number of COVID-19 tests being conducted in the city to detect cases early and prevent further spread of the virus.
