Dr. Anil Kumar, CPIM candidate of Bagepally Assembly, was attacked before the assembly elections in Karnataka. In this incident, a group of miscreants attacked the CPIM candidate last night. Bombs were hurled at his house, his car was vandalized.
Threatened to withdraw from the elections. Soon after the incident, the Left activists took to the streets and started protesting. Within a few moments, the police station in the area was surrounded. CPIM candidates sat on dharna demanding immediate punishment of the culprits.

BJP Goondas entered CPI(M) candidate Dr Anil Kumar's residence yesterday night in an attempt to attack and kill or kidnap him.
When Dr Anil Kumar returned to residence, yesterday night around 10 pm several unknown people were around, on the steps and first floor of the house. When confronted by CPI(M) workers they said they are working for BJP candidate and the first floor of the house was rented out to them. They were very aggressively and threateningly going around the house. They had come in two vehicles. When questioned it came to light that they have come from Anekal and Bangalore.
CPI(M) workers complained to the police and the gang was over 20 were arrested. While being arrested they threw their bags. When examined, sharp weapons like knives, machet were found. It was also found that they are not locals, most probably a hired criminal gang.
CPI(M) workers held demonstrations in front of the Bagepalli police station demanding filing of FIR, questioning arrested about the motives, and comprehensive enquiry about the attempted attack.
CPI(M) candidate is gathering huge support in Bagepalli and is on the way to win the seat. This has unnerved both BJP and incumbent Congress candidates. This is an attempt to kidnap or kill Dr Anil Kumar and create disturbance. More such attempts may be made. This needs to be enquired, demanded Comrade Munivenkatappa, CPI(M) Chikkaballapura District Secretary.
CPI(M) has strongly condemned the attack on Bagepalli CPI(M) candidate, demanded comprehensive enquiry about this attempt and unearth any more plots to kidnap or kill Dr Anil Kumar and create disturbance. Com Anil Kumar and CPI(M) needs to be given protection for carrying out election propaganda.

Under pressure, the police arrested 19 BJP supporters. CPIM alleged that knowing the sure defeat, BJP took the path of terror. , people are vigilant and will ensure the victory of the Left candidate in Bagepally by resisting.
