Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's Health Worsens, Needs Blood Transfusion

The health of former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has worsened, with his hemoglobin levels dropping. Doctors at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata have said that he needs a blood transfusion.

Bhattacharjee, 83, was admitted to the hospital on July 21 after he complained of chest pain and breathlessness. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and was put on ventilator support. His condition improved over the next few days, and he was taken off the ventilator on July 28.

However, his health has deteriorated again in the past few days. His hemoglobin levels have dropped to 7.5, which is considered to be low. Doctors have said that he needs a blood transfusion to improve his oxygen levels.

Bhattacharjee is currently under close observation. Doctors are hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
