The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. This means that rainfall between 115.6 to 204.4 mm is expected in a day.
The fresh alert comes after the state was hit by heavy rains over the past few days, which have caused widespread damage. The death toll in rain-related incidents has now reached 78, with the recovery of another body from the debris of a collapsed temple.
