In the wake of a disturbing incident that transpired on August 24th at Neha Public School in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) urges all democratic citizens of India to reflect on the gravity of the situation.
A video has surfaced, revealing Tripta Tyagi, a teacher and owner of Neha Public School in Khubbapur village, instructing primary school students in an alarming manner. The video depicts students being summoned one by one to physically harm a fellow classmate simply because he belongs to the Muslim community. Throughout the video, Tripta Tyagi can be heard spewing venomous remarks against the Muslim community.
What transpired at the Muzaffarnagar school is nothing short of indoctrination in hatred and violence against minorities, targeted at impressionable young minds. The toxic politics of Hindutva, along with its proponents and financiers, have led our nation down a perilous path.
AIDWA vehemently condemns not only this act of unspeakable brutality but also the brazen efforts by the ruling establishment and much of the mainstream media to portray it as an isolated incident.
Tragically, members of minority and Dalit communities, particularly those from the Muslim community, have become frequent victims of mob violence at the hands of Hindutva groups. These deadly mobs operate with both implicit and explicit support from the government and law enforcement. Calls for the ostracization and harm of Muslims have been voiced by political leaders from the ruling party, including central ministers, chief ministers, and parliament members. The demonization and marginalization of Muslims are being propagated through various avenues, from revisions in school curricula to political speeches, print media, television channels, mainstream cinema, and social media.
We implore all peace-loving citizens of India to stand in solidarity with the young boy who endured brutality and terror within the confines of a school classroom. We must acknowledge that the trauma suffered by this child mirrors the current state of our nation. The indoctrination of hate in the minds of the majority community and the instillation of mortal fear in minorities have become the primary objectives of Sangh Parivar today. Every mind is either imprisoned by hatred or gripped by fear.
It is imperative that we unite our forces to combat the growing wave of majoritarianism that is striving to establish itself as the 'official ideology' of our country. We must demand accountability from the government at both the central and state levels for the wounds inflicted upon our beloved nation, including our innocent children.
