Thiruvananthapuram, September 20, 2023: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan released the logo of Vizhinjam International Port, Thiruvananthapuram today, marking a major milestone in the history of Kerala's progress. The first ship is scheduled to arrive at the port on October 4, opening up endless possibilities for the development of the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that Vizhinjam International Port is a dream project for Kerala. "This port will be a gateway to the world for Kerala and will help us to achieve our economic development goals," he said.
The Vizhinjam International Port is a deepwater port being constructed at Vizhinjam, near Thiruvananthapuram. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Kerala and is expected to be a major boost to the state's economy.
The port will be able to handle container ships, cruise ships, and other vessels. It is also expected to attract major investments in the logistics and tourism sectors.
The release of the logo and the upcoming arrival of the first ship are significant milestones in the construction of the Vizhinjam International Port. The port is expected to be fully operational by 2024.
