Celebrated Malayalam actor Kundara Johny passed away due to a heart attack at a private hospital in Kollam on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was 71.
Johny was known for his villainous roles in Malayalam cinema, and starred in over 500 films in his career. Some of his most notable films include Kireedam, Chenkol, Rajavinte Makan, Aram+Aram Kinnaram, Kazhukan, Karimbana, Sphadikam, and Avanazhi.
Johny was also a successful stage actor, and won several awards for his performances. He was a member of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, and served as its president from 2010 to 2015.
Johny's death is a major loss to the Malayalam film industry. He was a versatile actor who could play both positive and negative roles with equal ease. He was also a respected member of the industry, and was known for his humility and dedication to his craft.
