May 8, 2025 - The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for six coordinated attacks targeting the Pakistani military and its collaborators in the Kech, Mastung, and Kachi districts of Balochistan. The assaults involved a combination of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and direct attacks on military infrastructure and convoys.
Key Incidents:
- Dashtuk, Zamuran: A remote-controlled IED targeted a Bomb Disposal Squad, resulting in the death of one soldier.
- Katgan and Sah Dem: Armed assaults on military outposts left at least three personnel dead and several others injured.
- Sah Dem: A supply truck was destroyed in an IED attack.
- Choto, Mastung: Resource transport vehicles were ambushed and attacked.
- Haji Shar, Kachi: A Ufone communication tower was destroyed, disrupting local communication infrastructure.
The BLA's spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, warned locals against collaborating with Pakistani forces, stating that aiding the military would result in consequences.
The attacks underscore the ongoing conflict in Balochistan, where insurgent groups have long fought for greater autonomy and control over the region’s resources. While the Pakistani military has intensified its operations in the region, groups like the BLA continue to mount significant resistance.
Efforts to independently verify the claims and determine casualties are ongoing. The Pakistani military has not yet issued a formal response.
