Massive Rally and Public Meeting Held in Perinthalmanna, Kerala, for Women Agricultural Workers
Perinthalmanna, Kerala, May 11, 2025: A powerful rally and public meeting organized by the All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU) took place in Perinthalmanna, marking the Women Agricultural Workers' National Convention and the AIAWU Central Working Committee meeting. The event drew large crowds, highlighting the struggles and demands of agricultural workers, particularly women.
A. Vijayaraghavan, President of AIAWU, inaugurated the meeting, emphasizing the need for united action to address the challenges faced by agricultural workers. Prominent speakers included CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Vijoo Krishnan, former CPI(M) MP C.S. Sujatha, Lalita Balan, Convenor of the Women's Sub Committee, and AIAWU General Secretary B. Venkat, among others. They addressed critical issues such as fair wages, land rights, and social security for agricultural workers.
The event underscored the AIAWU’s commitment to amplifying the voices of marginalized workers, with a special focus on empowering women in the agricultural sector.
