Temporary Suspension of Civil Flights at 32 Airports in Northern and Western India

New Delhi, May 10, 2025 – The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the temporary suspension of civil flight operations at 32 airports in northern and western regions of India. This measure is effective from May 9 to May 14, 2025, due to operational reasons.

The affected airports include major hubs like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jammu, and Srinagar, along with several others such as Bhuj, Pathankot, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), and Jodhpur. A complete list of affected airports is detailed in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the AAI.

In addition to airport closures, 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) will also remain closed until 23:59 UTC on May 14, 2025, corresponding to 5:29 IST on May 15, 2025. These closures extend from ground level to unlimited altitude.

Airlines have been advised to reroute flights in coordination with air traffic advisories to ensure minimal disruption. The suspension is being managed to maintain safety and operational efficiency.

Travelers are requested to check with their airlines for updates regarding flight schedules and alternative arrangements.
