Salim stated that with the BJP coming to power in the state for the first time, attacks on the livelihoods of working people and on the democratic rights of various sections of society had already begun. He argued that the use of bulldozers had become a symbol of these policies and emphasized that the Left had already launched protests against such actions.
He further stressed that, given the current political circumstances, the Left movement must intensify its multi-dimensional struggles on both political and social issues. According to him, the CPI(M) is preparing a comprehensive framework for future movements and campaigns across the state.
Members of the State Committee began detailed discussions on the election outcome and the evolving political scenario. The meeting will continue through Wednesday.
Three New Members Inducted into State Committee
As part of the decisions taken during the meeting, three leaders were inducted into the CPI(M) State Committee:
- Mostafizur Rahaman, newly elected MLA from Domkal Assembly constituency.
- Monalisa Sinha, a prominent leader of the women's movement.
- Meghnad Bhuiyan, a leader associated with farmers' struggles and agrarian movements.
