CPI(M) Launches Extended State Committee Meet in Nadia to Map Bengal Political Strategy

KALYANI (NADIA) — The Communist Party of India (Marxist) kicked off its two-day extended meeting of the West Bengal State Committee at Ritwik Sadan in Kalyani, Nadia district.

The high-level organizational session officially commenced as newly elected CPI(M) General Secretary M. A. Baby hoisted the party flag outside the venue. Following the ceremonial opening, the delegation convened indoors, where Polit Bureau member and West Bengal State Secretary Md. Salim presented the political-organizational draft report to outline the party's future strategy.

The two-day session, gathering key state leaders, district delegates, and senior Polit Bureau members including Brinda Karat and Surjya Kanta Mishra, focuses heavily on evaluating the state's socio-political environment.

Key Points of Discussion

  • Grassroots Mobilization: Deliberations centered on launching sustained public agitations over essential commodity price rises, unemployment, and state recruitment controversies.

  • Political Strategy: The leadership emphasized breaking existing political binaries by intensifying mass outreach programs and strengthening local class organizations.

  • Organizational Review: Delegated sessions reviewed district-level progress, addressing youth employment strategies and farm labor issues across rural Bengal.

The Extended State Committee meeting will conclude on August 30, culminating in a finalized action plan and formal organizational resolutions aimed at expanding the party's mass base.
