Mohd Islam, a former municipality chairman allegedly in a bid to influence voters in the upcoming UP municipal polls, made an unusual move. He distributed two truckloads of chicken to them even before the polls had been formally announced, so the model code of conduct has not been violated. Reportedly, people grabbed as many chickens as possible.
