An Assistant Inspector (ASI) who posted on Mohali was arrested for taking a 20,000 yen bribe from a rape victim, after a video of the incident began circulating on social media. The ASI has been identified as Parveen Kaur, who has been recruited into the police ranks here.
According to the Carabinieri, a resident of Dera Bassi filed a complaint of rape. ASI sought unlawful satisfaction to arrest the defendants in the case.It is said that the police officer came to take the bribe at the victim's house, where she was caught by the CCTV installed there. After the video went viral, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dera Basi (DSP) Darban Ahluwalia placed the CIA under Sections 7 and 13 of the Anti-Corruption Act.
